How to Hook-Up a Laptop to My Panasonic Viera TV

Updated February 21, 2017

Panasonic Viera HDTV sets are equipped with a special connection called a D-sub port for hooking up a personal computer or laptop using a standard VGA cable. This lets you view work or video from the computer on the Panasonic screen. Pressing two function keys switches the laptop over to the VGA output for the Viera connection. The entire set-up takes less than five minutes.

Connect one end of the cable to the socket with 15 holes on your laptop.

Attach the other plug on the cable to the port labelled "D-sub IN" on the rear of the Viera.

Turn on the Panasonic Viera and the laptop.

Press the input button repeatedly on the Viera remote control to toggle through the input choices. Select the D-sub input.

On the laptop, press the F key with the icon of a TV screen or monitor while holding down the"Fn" key. Your computer screen will now appear on the TV.
