A TV without a remote is hard to enjoy. Programming your Samsung TV remote does not take long, and it allows you to sit comfortably while knowing you will not have to get up if something you don't like comes on. Samsung TV remotes have a tiny indented "Set" button that is crucial to the programming process. This button was designed to be hard to reach to prevent the remote from being unprogrammed by accident.
Turn off the component you are going to program to the remote control. Press the button of the component that you are programming to the remote. For example, if you are programming a TV to the remote, press the "TV" button, if you are programming a VCR to the remote, press the "VCR" button, if you are programming a DVD player to the remote, press the "DVD" button and so on.
Use a paper clip (or other pointy tipped object) to press the indented "Set" button on the remote. This button prepares the remote for programming the code.
Go to the TV Codes website and look up the component you are programming to the remote to find the three-digit code. Enter the code into the number pad of the remote control. Point the remote at the component you are programming to the remote and press the "Power" button. If the component turns on, then the remote has successfully been programmed. If the component does not turn on, input a different code on the codes list.
