How to Recycle a Xerox Toner Cartridge
Recycle your cartridges to keep them out of landfills. (printer cartridge image by hugy from Fotolia.com)

Xerox has a recycling program for a wide variety of its office supplies. The company's website has a simple form that helps you print out a prepaid shipping label. You can print up to 15 labels at a time. You will ship your Xerox cartridges for recycling through UPS, which is also the company that ships Xerox products.

Instructions

  1. 1

Go to Xerox's recycling website (see link in Resources). Scroll down and select the cartridge you're recycling. The page will automatically redirect.

  2. 2

Type in your address and click "Submit." This will generate a printing label with a unique UPS bar code.

  3. 3

Print the shipping label and tape it to a box large enough to hold the specific cartridge you are sending. If you put multiple cartridges in a box, the prepaid label won't cover the weight.

  4. 4

Seal the cartridge in a Ziploc bag to keep any remaining ink or toner from leaking during shipping. Put the cartridge in the labelled box. Repeat for each cartridge.

  5. 5

Take the boxes to a UPS Store, give them to the UPS driver when a package is delivered to your home, or call 800-742-5877 to arrange a pickup from your home.
