The original Cartier Love bracelet was first created in the 1970s, and could only be opened and closed using a small screwdriver. Since then, Cartier has created a full line of jewellery based on the original bracelet's design; in 2006, they launched a "Love Charity" bracelet, featuring a miniature version of the original bracelet threaded on a coloured silk cord. There are several different colours available for the cord, allowing wearers to change the look of their bracelet.
Thread the gold ring onto the silk cord. Position the ring close to the right end of the cord.
Form a "S" shape with the cord. Position the ring on the lower bend in the "S."
Wrap the top part of the cord around the two parts of the cord that make up the lower bend two times, beginning from the portion closer to the ring.
Pass the cord through the loop formed by the top part of the "S."
Hold both ends of the cord in place and gently slide the coils towards the ends to tighten the knot. Ensure as little as possible of the trapped end of the cord remains. Repeat the process for the left end of the cord to finish tying the bracelet.
