How to Transfer Music with Philips Go Gear

Updated April 17, 2017

Philips GoGear is a line of portable media players that allow you to enjoy music, video and more while travelling or working out. While you can synchronise--or sync--your favourite songs and albums onto Philips GoGear players through Songbird, the units' media management utility, you may also use your handset as a storage drive. Philips GoGear storage drive use allows you to transfer any kind of file between devices such as computers and other USB-capable hardware.

Connect the Philips GoGear player to your computer. Insert one end of the Philips GoGear player's USB adaptor into the device itself. Insert the other end of the adaptor into an available USB port on your computer. Wait for your computer to recognise the Philips GoGear player as a connected device.

Safely disconnect the Philips GoGear player from your computer. Right-click the Philips GoGear player's device icon and select "Safely Remove Hardware" from the ensuing drop-down menu. Remove the Philips GoGear player's USB adaptor from both the handset and computer.
