A carrier ID number, otherwise known as a mobile ID number, is a cell phone identification number assigned to to cell phone that has been connected to a cell phone provider. It is used to identify the mobile unit and prevent fraud, as well as identify the device to a cell phone provider and allow it access to the providers network. Basically, the carrier ID number or Mobile Identification Number is the 10-digit cell phone number of a cell phone.

    Power on the cell phone. Make sure the cell phone is properly charged and power the phone on. This is necessary to find the number the cell phone is listed for.

    Find the settings function. All cell phones are different, but all have a setting function. Scroll through the options until you find the settings and select that option.

    Find the Device Info icon. Under settings should be a tab that contains all the device information. Look for a tab called About Phone or Phone Information. Select this tab.

    Find mobile information. Look through the devices information until you find a tab called Phone Identity, or Number. The Carrier ID (phone number) number should be listed there.
