The Barracuda Spam and Virus Firewall is a software used to protect your operating system from leaking important data though e-mail (e-mail filtering,) as well as blocking websites (web filtering.) Usually schools, corporations, institutions or parents use this type of software to block websites deemed inappropriate because of their content, high flow of traffic or from taking too much bandwidth. Unfortunately, when using Barracuda some helpful websites may end up getting blocked. If you need to access such websites, there are several steps you can follow to bypass a Barracuda Firewall.

Skill level:

  1. 1

Visit Kproxy’s official website (see Resources). Part of the website’s online service is to let you use a proxy address while surfing the Internet. It will aid in bypassing a Barracuda Firewall that may hinder you in accessing restricted websites wherever you are, whether at home, at work or at school. It also works well with Facebook and is has been available on the net since 2005.

  2. 2

Type the URL address of the blocked website that you want to visit on the box located next to the “Surf” tab.

  3. 3

Click the “Surf” button on the Kproxy webpage or press “Enter” on your keyboard. Afterward, Kproxy will connect you directly to the web page that you wish to visit.

  1. 1

Go to the official webpage of VectroProxy (see Resources). It is a free proxy website that ensures fast Internet browsing while hiding your IP address and making your Internet use unknown to others.

  2. 2

Locate the box marked “Enter the Web Address” on the centre of VectroProxy website. Enter on the box the URL address of the restricted website that you would like to browse.

  3. 3

Click on the “Browse” tab next to the “Enter the Web Address” box. You will then be directed to the previously restricted website.

  1. 1

Go to the Vtunnel website (see Resources). Vtunnel will freely allow you to browse the net and bypass any IP-based filter or the Barracuda Firewall.

  2. 2

Type the name of the website you would like to visit in the “Enter a URL below to browse the Internet Securely” box that is situated at the upper-mid part of the Vtunnel website.

  3. 3

Click on the “Begin Browsing” tab located right under the box where you typed the blocked web page's URL or you can press “Enter” on your keyboard. You will be directed to the site you wanted to visit that was blocked by Barracuda Firewall.
