Cleaning vomit is an unpleasant job no matter where it is and how many times you've cleaned up after the kids or pets. When someone vomits on your suede couch, it can seem disastrous due to the absorbent, natural fibres of the suede and the mess the vomit creates. Using supplies found in most homes and garages, you can remove any vomit stain as well as its strong odour from your suede couch.
Scrape or scoop up as much vomit as possible, using a plastic scraper or spoon. Place the vomit in a plastic garbage bag for disposal.
Mix mild dish-washing liquid and warm water in a bucket. Stir the solution with your hands to create as much foam as possible.
Dip your sponge into the suds only and dab at the vomit stain on your suede couch. Rinse the sponge off in the bucket, wring it out, then dip it again in the suds. Continue to dab at the vomit stain until you have worked the suds into the entire stain.
Rinse the stained area with cool water using a clean cloth. Dry the area with another cloth, then allow the suede couch to air dry completely.
Sprinkle baking soda on the area where the vomit stain was. Work the baking soda into the suede using a soft-bristled brush. Allow the baking soda to sit in the suede fibres for 24 hours. This will eliminate the odour left by vomit.
Brush the suede with a suede brush to remove the baking soda.
Open windows to help freshen the air as you clean and remove the vomit.
Avoid trying to wipe up the vomit with a cleaning cloth as it will likely spread further into the suede's fibres.
