Things you need
- Scrapbook paper
- Card stock or acid-free papers
- Glue or double-sided tape
- Cardboard or posterboard
Measure and cut two pieces of cardboard to a square of 12 cm (4 3/4 inches) for the front and back covers. Next cut two squares of 15 cm (6 inches) from scrapbook paper to cover the cardboard.
Centre and glue the cardboard square to the back of the scrapbook paper. Smooth out any wrinkles or bubbles carefully. At each corner cut a horizontal slit in the scrapbook paper, fold it over smoothly on all four sides of the cardboard and glue or tape in place. Glue or tape a 75 cm (30 inch) piece of ribbon in the centre of one of the covers on the cardboard side.
Cut three 22 cm (8 1/2 inch) squares out of card stock or scrapbook paper for the insides. They can be different patterns or all the same colour. Fold all three sheets of paper in half and then again until you have four quarters. Open up the folded paper, flip over and fold into a triangle once.
Place two of the sheets in front of you facing up, shaped like a bowl. Flip the third piece over in the opposite direction and position it in the middle of the other two so that it overlaps corner to corner of the other sheets. Lining up fold lines, glue or tape the overlapping quarter corners together. If you want to add more pages just repeat these steps for the desired number of pages. Add a longer piece of ribbon if necessary.
Fold the inside pages flat into a square like an accordion by folding the middle sheet first and then one and three together. Glue or tape the cover with the ribbon on the back and the matching cover on the front of the folded paper. Press together and tie the ribbon. Now you are ready to personalise the scrapbook with memories and decorations.
Add lots of photos, mementos and make it sparkle with glitter or gemstones. Add some ribbon, stickers or messages next to or on the pictures. Choose themes such as holidays or birthdays and do one for each occasion or person.
