How to Check Ink Levels in an HP D1560 Deskjet Printer

Updated July 20, 2017

Checking the ink levels on an HP D1560 Deskjet Printer is a fairly straightforward process. After using a printer for an extended period of time, the ink eventually begins to get low. If the cartridge is not replaced in a short period of time, the ink runs out and the printer is unable to print. Luckily, HP built in a feature with its printers that allows users to check ink levels right from their computers.

Click the "Start" button at the bottom of the screen and select "All Programs" from the pop-up menu. Select the "HP" tab and click "HP Solution Center" from the available options.

Click the "Settings" tab on the next page. Once the next screen loads, click the "Print Settings" option.

Select "Printer Toolbox" from the subsequent window and choose the "Estimated Ink Levels" tab. A graph appears showing how much ink is left in each cartridge relative to how much was present when the cartridge was full. The graph also gives you an estimated percentage of what is left.
