How to Reverse Text in Word 2007

Updated April 17, 2017

If you want to create a mirror image of text in a Word 2007 document, there is no way to type the text in reverse or format the text reversed on its own. There are some workarounds, however, that will result in the appearance of reversed text. To do so, you will need to use the WordArt feature.

Start Microsoft Word 2007. Open the document in which you want to enter reversed text or open a new document. Go to the "Insert" tab. Click "WordArt" in the "Text" group. Select a WordArt style.

Type the text you want to reverse into the WordArt box. Select the same font and font size in the "Font" and "Size" boxes as the rest of the text in your document. Click "OK."

Click the border of the WordArt object. Go to the "Format" tab under "Picture Tools."

Click "Rotate" in the "Arrange" group.

Click "Flip Horizontal" to flip the WordArt object and reverse the text.
