The HP 2575 Printer is a printer that can be used to scan, copy, and print. The printer can be set-up using a USB cable or can be connected as a shared printer using an Ethernet cable. Both connections cannot be used at the same time. Connecting as a shared printer requires a working network through a switch or router.
Insert the Installation CD into the CD-ROM drive. If you are using an Ethernet connection, connect the Ethernet cable from the printer to the router or switch first, then insert the Installation CD. An Installation wizard should run automatically. If it does not, double-click on the CD-ROM drive in My Computer and double-click the "setup.exe" file.
Follow the prompts on the Installation Wizard by pressing "Next," then select the connection type you want to use (either USB or Ethernet), then click "Next."
Connect the USB cable when prompted. Make sure the printer is plugged in and turned on. The installation wizard will verify the connection. Skip this step if you are using an Ethernet connection.
Click "Next" and then finish the installation.
Install the software using the installation CD on other computers on the network if you are using an Ethernet connection.
