How to Update My LG Software

Updated February 21, 2017

LG manufactures cell phones that use firmware for its graphical user interface (GUI). When the software on your phone is outdated, you could be losing performance in everything from your call quality to your battery life. The best way to get the most out of your phone is through a software update. Updating your software is not something that you have to do through your phone's retail store. You can do it yourself with the LG Software Updater Application.

Download the "LG Software Updater Application" to your computer's desktop (see References).

Launch the software by double-clicking on it per your desktop.

Search for your LG phone's model in the search box on the software applications.

Click on your USB driver from the menu on the software window.

Download the USB driver for your phone. The software will automatically install it on your computer.

Connect your phone to your computer through a USB cable. Wait for the software to automatically update your LG software if necessary.
