How to Boot a VAIO in Safe Mode

Written by sharon harp | 13/05/2017

Sony's VAIO laptops run the Windows operating system, which has a special boot mode called Safe Mode. Safe Mode boots the Windows operating system in a limited state, disabling all unnecessary and non-critical drivers, services and programs. This is helpful in troubleshooting operating system issues like virus infections, fixing program incompatibilities or restoring the computer back to a working state.

Turn off your computer if it is already on.

Turn on the computer.

Tap the F8 key every few seconds from the second the computer boots up until you see the "Windows Advanced Options Menu."

Select "Safe Mode" using your down and up arrow keys, then press "Enter" to boot into Safe Mode.
