How to Remove Scuff Marks From Leather

Updated November 21, 2016

When leather is scraped or harmed, it can result in scuff marks. Scuff marks can appear on leather shoes, furniture, or purses. Since scuff marks make leather look old and damaged, they should be cleaned off. Home products like mineral oil and shaving cream can help to remove scuff marks.

Pour a small amount of mineral oil onto a soft cloth.

Rub the cloth in a circular motion over the scuff marks until they disappear.

Spray a small amount of shaving cream on scuff marks that won't come out.

Let the shaving cream sit for a minute, and then rub it into the scuff marks with another soft cloth.

Spray furniture polish onto the leather, and rub it in with a soft cloth. Furniture polish leaves leather looking shiny and new.

Things You'll Need
