How to Retrieve Deleted Messages From Mobile Phones

Updated February 21, 2017

Sending text messages is probably the most popular application on a phone aside from making phone calls. It's quick, it's convenient and it doesn't require a lot of technical know-how. Unfortunately, they are also easy to delete. With the right tools, it's easy to retrieve deleted messages from mobile phones.

Find a SIM card reader for your phone. The SIM card is the part of your phone where your digital files are stored (though not all phones have SIM cards).

Download an application and install it by double clicking on the file. If the program came on a CD, simply insert the CD into your computer's drive and follow the installation instructions. Slide off the back casing from your phone and remove the battery. Lift up the metal gate that holds the white, rectangular SIM card, and slide the card out.

Insert the card into the SIM-reader USB device and plug the cable into the port of your computer.

Go to the “Start" menu and select the application that you installed earlier and double click on it.

Double click on the “SMS” tab under the application box and wait for the text messages to download. They will appear in the right-hand pane of the program. The deleted ones will be in red.

Select the message that you wish to retrieve and right-click on it. Select “Undelete” and it will be fully restored in the memory of the SIM card.
