How to make Three Little Pigs craft costumes

The Three Little Pigs is one of the most beloved fairy tales of all time. Millions of children across the globe have heard the cautionary tale about stepping out into the world on your own and not being prepared or taking short cuts. Your children will love to dress up as one of the three little pigs with two of their siblings or friends. Constructing three piggy costumes is a fun way to have a well-known children's story come to life for a fancy dress party.

Draw the shape of two pink ears into a large piece of pink felt. Repeat this two more times for each child.

Cut out the ears with a pair of scissors.

Attach the ears to the top of a white baseball cap with glue. To make them stick up better, fold a tab into the bottom of the ear and glue that onto the hat instead. Repeat this on the other two hats.

Bend a pink pipe cleaner into the shape of a curly pig's tail. Glue the tails to the bottom of each pair of children's overalls.

Draw a thick line down the centre of each pink sock. The line should extend about one inch. These are the pig's hooves and should be worn on your children's hands like gloves.

Colour your children's face pink with face paint and give each a plastic pig nose. These can be purchased at mostfancy dress shops or department stores.

Dress your children in a button down "cowboy" style shirt, the overalls, and a pair of work boots.

Give each one of the three little pigs a prop that fits into the story. One child should carry a bundle of sticks, another a basket full of straw, and the last bricks that have been constructed by painting several small boxes a brick red colour.

Have one of the parents, or yourself, dress up as the Big Bad Wolf and chase the children around during the party.
