If you are sending a mass email, hide your contacts' addresses in Outlook Express by using the blind carbon copy or "Bcc:" option. A benefit of using blind carbon copy is that it protects the people in your contact list from receiving unwanted emails from other people on the list.

Skill level:

  1. 1

Select the "View" menu and click on "All Headers" in the drop-down menu. This will populate the "Bcc:" field.

  2. 2

    Click "Bcc."

  3. 3

Highlight the contacts you wish to email from the "Select Recipients" pop-up. To choose more than one, hold the "Control" key on your keyboard while you click on each contact. To choose everyone in your contact list, highlight the first name in the list. Press the "Shift" key and highlight the last name in the list.

  4. 4

Click "Bcc: ->" in the center of the "Select Recipients" pop-up, and all the contacts you selected will populate in the field to the right.

  5. 5

    Select "OK."
