Few things add to the immersion of a gaming experience like a gaming chair. The right chair places you in the thick of the action, surrounded by the sound and images of the game, and with input accessories that allow you keyboardless control. While most gaming chairs are designed for use with driving simulators, you can convert these chairs for use with a flight simulator. By converting the configuration of your chair you'll be able to fly with confidence, operating flight sticks or a flight yoke to give you a level of control of your aeroplane that's not possible in any other way.

  1. 1

Power down your computer and unplug the driving wheel and pedals from the computer case.

  2. 2

Remove the clamp securing the driving wheel and pedals from the gaming chair. Remove the equipment from the chair and set it aside.

  3. 3

Clamp the rudder pedals in place at the base of the chair. Sit in the chair and test the fit of the pedals, making sure you can operate them comfortably.

  4. 4

Clamp the flight yoke, if using one, onto the bar at the front of the chair or the edge of the desk you're using. Center the yoke with the centre of the chair at a comfortable height for your hands. Place the levered throttle for the yoke to the right or left of the yoke, positioned for easy reach with your dominant hand.

  5. 5

Clamp the joystick platforms on the arms of the gaming chair, one on each arm where you can comfortably reach a joystick and throttle. Attach the flight stick to the platform located on the dominant side and the throttle on the other platform. Attach the joystick and throttle by marking the holes in the bottom of the units provided for mounting, placing screws in the platforms and the slipping the joystick and throttle into place. The joystick and throttle can also be mounted using the rubber suction pad attachments that can be placed at the bottom of the joysticks. If your chair does not come with rails for mounting panels, mount the joystick and throttle onto your desk.

  6. 6

Plug the installed accessories into the PC for use.
