How to Find the Server Name for Microsoft Exchange

Updated August 16, 2017

Microsoft Exchange is used to access a corporate Microsoft Outlook account. The Microsoft Exchange information is necessary in order to connect to your Outlook e-mail account from home or anywhere else in the world. Part of this information is the server name, which is not difficult to find.

Open Outlook. Click "Tools," then "Options."

Click the “Mail Setup” tab located within “Options,” and then click “Email Accounts.”

Click the “Change” button located above “Microsoft Exchange.”

Locate the text next to “Microsoft Exchange Server.” You have now found the server name for Microsoft Exchange.

Tip

Be sure to enter your username and password when setting up Outlook for Exchange at home. While having the server name is necessary, so is having your username and password.
