How to find lyrics without knowing the song title or artist

You might find yourself with a song stuck in your head, but you only know one line of the song. This line will repeat itself endlessly, bothering you all day and distracting you from your work. Fortunately, satisfying your curiosity and finding the song's complete lyrics is relatively easy.

Type in the one line of the song you know, along with the word lyrics, into a search engine. You will probably find lots of results, including lyrics websites such as,, or The song title and artist will probably appear.

Click on the results that match the song lyrics you have, and you will be able to read the song's full lyrics. This search will also help you to remember or discover the title of a song you heard on the radio.

If you don't know any of the song's lyrics, or the title or artist, you can try to find the lyrics with the song's melody alone. If your computer has a microphone, go to

Click on the box at the top of the screen that says "Click and Sing or Hum." You can then sing or hum the song for up to ten seconds, and will search for the song. Once you have the song's title, type it into a search engine to find its complete lyrics.
