A friendship bracelet is a form of jewellery that is often handmade by a close friend. The bracelet is then given to the friend so every time he wears the bracelet, he is reminded of the friendship. Friendship anklets are very similar to bracelets, but are meant to be worn around the ankle rather than the arm. An anklet may be more convenient to tie and prevent slipping off as easily as friendship bracelets on the wrist.

Instructions

  1. 1

Cut two different colours of string, with three strands of each colour. The strings should be about 25 inches per strand.

  2. 2

Place the string together so the lengths are matched up. Tie a knot about two inches away from the bottom of the string.

  3. 3

Separate the colours into two groups. Begin twisting the colours back and forth until you're almost two inches away from the top of the string.

  4. 4

Hold the tip of the bracelet with one hand so the string doesn't unravel.

  5. 5

Tie a knot at the second end of the string. You will now be left with a multicoloured string.

  6. 6

Wear the friendship anklet by using the additional two inches of untwisted string to tie a bow around your friend's ankle.
