How to Lessen Sagging Cheeks With Facial Exercises

You know that if you don't exercise a muscle, that muscle loses its suppleness and tone, allowing the effects of aging to set it. However, you may not realize that exercising your facial muscles can keep the signs of aging away from your face. Firm cheeks are one sign of youth that you can maintain with the right exercises.

Sit in a comfortable chair that allows you to maintain good posture, with your feet flat on the floor. Position the chair in front of a mirror because you need to see some of the exercises for your cheeks. Take a few deep breaths to relax and prepare for your facial exercise session.

Watch yourself in a mirror as you pull the corners of your lips upwards and pull your cheek muscles straight up towards your eyes. Attempt to touch your nose with your upper lip, and keep watching to ensure you keep the corners of your lips up. When you've contracted your muscles as much as you can, hold the position for a count of 10. Relax and repeat five times.

Relax your lips, but keep them closed. Place your fingers lightly on your cheeks. Bring your lips into a pucker using only the muscles in your cheeks, not the muscles in your lips. Hold the pucker as you count to 10 and then relax. Repeat the exercise 10 times.

Smile with relaxed, closed lips. Keep your lips relaxed as you suck your cheeks inward, hollowing them out and bringing them onto (or maybe even between) your molars. Hold your cheeks there as you count to 10, then repeat 10 times.

Stretch your closed lips into a wide smile, watching yourself in a mirror to make sure you keep the corners of your mouth turned up throughout the exercise. Use your cheek muscles as you stretch your smile wider, as if you could touch your ears with it. Holding that position, wrinkle your nose using your cheek muscles. Hold the position for five counts, then relax. Repeat the facial exercise 10 times.
