  1. 1

Measure child's waist and add an inch to each end. Mark with a marker on each end.

  2. 2

Measure child from waist to desired length of tutu. Double this measurement and cut tulle to measured length.

  3. 3

Lay tulle flat out on a table and cut into approximately 6 inch wide strips.

  4. 4

Starting in the middle of your ribbon, fold a strip of tulle in half over ribbon and tie in a knot. Your strip should now be attached to the ribbon.

  5. 5

Repeat this process until you have tied enough tulle strips to fill entire ribbon to end marks on each side.

  6. 6

Tie tutu around child's waist with a bow. If there is too much extra ribbon, trim slightly.

Tips and warnings

  • Alternate different colours of tulle for a multicoloured effect.
