How to find a nude beach in Great Britain

Although UK laws relating to nudity amount to somewhat of a grey area, you'll stand a good chance of running into trouble if you insist on getting your bits out on a family beach that hasn't been set aside for naturists. If you must take all your kit off when beside the seaside, you'll be best off finding a patch of sand or pebbles intended for those who like to bear all.

Instructions

  1. 1

Visit the British Naturism website, hover over "Activities" and select "UK places to go" from the drop-down menu. You'll be presented with a map of the British Isles resplendent with arrows marking not only nudist beaches, but also inland naturist venues where you'll be able to enjoy a swim sans-apparel. In addition, the site features information on naturist holiday resorts where you can spend extended breaks in the nuddy.

  2. 2

Check out The Beach Guide's online round-up of UK nudist beaches. Although not as exhaustive as the collection displayed on the British Naturism website, The Beach Guide provides information on a reasonable number of nudist beaches scattered around the British Isles, except for Northern Ireland. Click or tap on the locations displayed to view detailed information on beach facilities.

  3. 3

Get yourself over to NudistUK.com and click on "Nudist beaches" in the left-hand navigation bar. You'll be redirected a list of nuddy beaches around the country, accompanied by a few reviews of selected locations. The information provided is a little sparse, but will give you some idea if you have a nudist beach close to you.

  4. 4

Take a look at the Saturday Walkers' Club website to view a map featuring a number of nudist beaches around the UK. The site appears to favour the south-east, featuring fewer locations in the north and Scotland, and none in Northern Ireland. Click or tap on locations of interest to view detailed beach information.

Tips and warnings

  • Judicious use of sunblock is advised when visiting nudist beaches in sunny weather.
