DIY Peanut Butter: Simply Made At Home
All you need for a great peanut butter is peanuts. I know… it seems too simple, but that’s how it should be. Depending on your tastes, you can also add a little oil, a pinch of sea salt, or a bit of raw honey if you like yours sweetened.— Betsy Jabs, DIY Natural
Ditch the unhealthy preservative-packed peanut butter jars and make your own version of the nutty paste at home. In less than five minutes you too can have all natural creamy or chunky peanut butter you like, only using a few affordable ingredients.
Peanuts in process
Blend peanuts in a food processor (or heavy duty blender) adding only a handful of peanuts at a time. You will want to gradually add the oil so that the mixture is smooth. Keep adding more peanuts and oil until the mixture is completely smooth with very little chunks. Add salt to taste. If you prefer a sweeter peanut butter, try adding honey or sugar to the mixture.
For those who prefer a chunkier peanut butter, add chopped salted peanuts, but only after you have first made the smooth version.
Tips and warnings
