How to use gmail email templates with attachments

Google's free e-mail client, GMail, now includes templates, or "canned responses." Google provides a list of pre-written e-mails in GMail that, when enabled, may be used instead of typing a response to an e-mail message. You can also create your own canned responses and save them as templates. When using a template, you can attach files to the email as attachments just as you would do if you were not using the template.

Open a web browser, navigate to site and log in with your user ID and password.

Click the "Settings" option in the upper right corner of the GMail interface. Click the tab labelled "Labs."

Click the "Enable" option next to the "Canned Responses" entry.

Click the "Save Changes" button at the bottom of the page. Templates are now enabled in GMail and a link is added just under the Subject line for e-mail responses.

Open a web browser and log into your GMail account.

Open an e-mail in your Inbox that you will respond to, and click "Reply." A Reply window for the email opens.

Click the "Canned Responses" drop-down box and select the response to send. The text fills in within the body of the email.

Click the "Attach A File" option. A file navigation dialogue box opens. Navigate to and click on the file to attach. Click "Attach." The file is attached to the email with the template.
