How to Change the Tab Homepage in Firefox

Updated March 23, 2017

Firefox tabs allow you to have multiple Web pages open at the same time, making it easy to switch back and forth between different websites. Each new tab runs horizontally just above the main browser window, with the newest tab on the right side by default. When you first open Firefox, the page on the first tab is referred to as the home page. Change your home page at any time in just a few seconds.

  1. Open Firefox and point your browser to the page you want to be the new tab home page.

  2. Click on the page's URL once and release the mouse to highlight the URL.

  3. Click on the URL a second time and drag it over to the icon of a house located directly to the left of the browser URL field. Drag the URL until the "+" beneath it is directly on top of the house icon and then release your mouse.

  4. Click "Yes" in the pop-up screen that asks "Do you want this document to be your new home page?"
