How to Convert a WPL to a PLA for Fuze

Updated July 19, 2017

A WPL file is a Windows Media Player playlist. A PLA file is a Sansa Fuze playlist file. You can convert your WPL files to PLA playlists by syncing the two applications together. You can sync the two players together with the Windows Media Player software, which is included with your Windows computer. This feature transfers your favourite playlist, so you can play a collection of songs you've saved.

  1. Connect the Fuze using the USB cable. Windows detects the Fuze connection and creates an icon for the player in your system tray. Click the Windows "Start" button and type "media player" in the search text box. Press "Enter" to open the Media Player software.

  2. Right-click the Sansa Fuze player icon in your list of options on the left. A list of options is shown in a pop-up menu. Click the option labelled "Set Up Sync."

  3. Choose "Personal Playlists" from the opened menu. A list of playlists is shown. Click the WPL playlist you want to transfer to the Sansa player. If you only have one playlist available, it is selected by default. Click "Add." In the final screen, click the "Finish" button to convert the file.
