How to Disable a CTF Loader

The CTF Loader is a process on Windows-based computers that controls the ability of certain programs, like Microsoft Office, to accept alternate user input services. These services include a program's ability to recognise speed-to-text software, handwriting recognition components and other types of devices. Disabling a CTF Loader on a computer involves shutting down the process "CTFMon.exe" that controls the service.

  1. Click "Start."

  2. Click "All Programs."

  3. Click "Accessories."

  4. Click "System Tools."

  5. Click "Resource Monitor." In this window, click on the "Memory" tab to view a list of all programs running on the computer. Locate the instance of CTFMon.exe that is running (you can alphabetise the names of programs by clicking on the "Image" button) and right-click on it.

  6. Click "End Process" to disable the CTF Loader on the computer.
