How to get ActiveX to work on a mac

ActiveX is a programming application designed for use on Windows-based computers. However, if you own a Mac system you can also use ActiveX, although the download required to use the programming on a Mac is different from a Windows download. This is due to the operating system differences between a Mac and a Windows-based computer.

  1. Launch the Internet browser on your Mac computer. Click on the download link provided in the Resources section below.

  2. Click the "Download" tab, and the ActiveX download begins on the computer. The program application is not large, so it shouldn't take very long to complete.

  3. Double-click the downloaded Mac ActiveX download in the "Downloads" window (or double-click the desktop icon) to launch the installation.

  4. Follow the installation prompts to complete the ActiveX set-up.
