How to Draw a Sea Turtle From Finding Nemo

Updated June 02, 2017

Squirt is the most famous sea turtle from Finding Nemo, a Disney film from 2003. The movie tells the story of Nemo, a young clown fish who is trying to get home. During his epic journey, he runs into a group of sea turtles and befriends one in particular: Squirt. With his large eyes and broad fins, Squirt is a fun and easy character to draw from Finding Nemo.

  1. Draw Squirt's eyes. Draw two parentheses shapes with the curves facing each other. Draw Squirt's eyes as big, round circles, taking up the entire space inside the curve of the parentheses. Draw two concentric circles within the first one, and colour in the smallest circle black with a small circle of white so there's a twinkle in Squirt's eye.

  2. Draw Squirt's head, framing his large eyes. The sea turtle from Finding Nemo basically has a square shaped head, with a slight round bump at the top, and a u-shaped chin.

  3. Draw Squirt's shell. The sea turtle from Finding Nemo has a shell only slightly larger than his head. Draw a wide W-shape at the top of his shell. Under this, draw three upside down U-shapes. Below this, draw four upside down U-shapes.

  4. Draw Squirt's two side fins. They come down from the sea turtle from Finding Nemo's body narrowly at first, then are quite wide and shaped like crab's claws. The back fin should be smaller than the front fin. The front fin should be the same length as the sea turtle from Finding Nemo's shell.

  5. Draw Squirt's left-most front fin. It should be the same size as the sea turtle from Finding Nemo's other large front fin, only more vertically aligned.

  6. Draw asymmetrical polygon shapes on the top of Squirt's head and his two rightmost fins. Draw flower shapes on his shell.
