Ideas for My Boyfriend's Birthday So He Can Be Happy

Updated April 17, 2017

Every girlfriend wants to make her boyfriend happy on his birthday. This is not a difficult task to achieve, especially if you know him well. The main thing to remember is that it is his day. That being said, forget about what you enjoy doing and cater the day around his interests.

Plan Something Fun

Planning something fun for your boyfriend's birthday is a sure way to make him happy. If you are unsure of what to do, consider his interests. If he is an adrenalin junkie, take him to an amusement park or a go-kart track. If he is the social type, throw him a surprise party and invite all of his friends. If he loves the water, rent a boat for the day or take him to a water park. Other ideas include a road trip, weekend getaway or camping trip.

Let Him be King for the Day

Your boyfriend deserves special treatment on his birthday. For example, if he has to work during the day, make him a special lunch with a cupcake and a special note. If you are driving somewhere together, let him relax in the passengers seat while you take the wheel. Even if you are just watching television, let him control the remote and decide what you two watch. All these little gestures throughout the day will make him feel loved and appreciated.

Give Him a Sentimental Gift

A sentimental gift is something thoughtful and meaningful. For example, you could make him a scrapbook of your time together or of a special vacation you took together. Alternatively, you could buy him something he has been wanting and have it engraved with a quote, your anniversary date or an inside joke. Other ideas include having a photo blanket made with pictures of you both, putting together a gift bag of his favourite toys, candy and books from his childhood or making a mixed CD with songs that have meaning to him or meaning to you both as a couple.

Dont Forget the Festive Extras

There are many festive things you can do for your boyfriend to make it really feel like his birthday. For example, if you live together, wake up before him and decorate the house with balloons, streamers and birthday signs. If you don't live together, you can hire a singing telegram to wake him up in the morning. Other festive extras include a birthday cake with candles, "Happy Birthday" tablecloth and napkins, birthday hats, a "Birthday Boy" pin, noise makers and a loot bag filled with novelty toys and candy.
