"Did you know the price of text messages has gone up about double since 2005? Hi, I'm Dan Afonso of Afonso Consulting and Enfold IT. And this is how to send free text messages over the web. And when I say free text messages, I mean for you. The receiver still may have to pay charges, depending on their plan. Now there's a couple different ways to do this. There are a lot of sites out there. They claim to send free text messages for you. Just put in the phone number and this that. Any other thing and they will route the message for you. A lot of them don't work. I don't know why. They have no real reason, not to. But they just simply don't work. So before you actually depend on this to get an important message out to somebody. Make sure you check first. Make sure you check with somebody of that carrier. Some site only work for certain carriers. So for instance, we have here. Here's a link for SMS every where. Which is not a bad site. Except that it only works for TMobile, Sprint, Nextel. So you will type in your number, your message. And then send it, they get the message, theoretically. That's one option. And there's a couple other sites. There is Text For Free, which I found to actually work with AT& T. Unfortunately the text that you get from them is filled with a lot of garbage. Which is how it got routed to you. There's no way to get rid of that, it's kind of, inconvenient. So there's a few sites like this. Look around, just do a Google search on free text messaging. And you should have no problem finding them. However if you actually want to get something through correctly. The real way to do it, is to use an SMS, an e-mail to SMS gateway. Now you're going to find these lists in various places. If you actually call up and ask the carrier, how to get this. They will tell you. If you call their customer support number. However, there are lists available on the net. And here's one over at Hurt911.ORG. And these are all different e-mail addresses you can use. Phone number at carrier page. And it will send out the SMS for you. If you want to try one of these, just grab one. I'm going to. I don't know. Let's go grab me. So I'm going to grab the AT & T. Which is at mmode.com. Now I'm going to bring up some e-mail application. and let's see what happens. And there we go. I'm Dan Afonso. And that's how to send a free text message from the web."
