"Hi, I'm Amy McCauley, and I'm going to discuss with you, the features to look for in a treadmill. There are two basic types of treadmill. One is a motorized electric treadmill, and one is a manual treadmill. The manual treadmill, is one you just get on and walk with it. What you want to look for, is an electric treadmill, and you're looking for grip sensors that you can grab onto, and it will tell you if you're in your heart rate zone. It will test your heart rate, and it will also tell you, if you're in the seventy to eighty percentile, where you need to be for your maximum heart rate. You also want to look at your belt. The wider the belt of the treadmill, the faster you can run on the surface, so if you're looking at a treadmill that's got a very small, thin surface, you want to look for one that's a little bit larger, especially if your goals are to run on the treadmill. Another thing you want to look for, is a belt that will incline. If you're on a flat surface., it tends to put a lot of pressure on your shins, so you want to have an incline, that at least inclines from a zero grade, all the way up to about ten, and that way, you can kind of vary your levels, as you are running or walking. You also want to look for a treadmill that has programs in it, preferably one that will have intervals, hills, any kind of a random up and down movement, so that you can challenge your heart rate. Displays you want to look for, are your speed, the time, calories that you're burning, distance, pulse rate elevation, and incline. Those are the major things you want to look for in a treadmill, for a good treadmill, and it's worth spending a little bit more money, if you find one that's going to be comfortable for you, as you're running. You can always test it out, and see how it is in the store, so that is how we look for different features in a treadmill, and enjoy your run."
