Many shop bought swingsets include anchors to hold the swingset firmly onto the ground and prevent it from tipping over while children play. These anchors will sometimes come loose when children swing very high and this could create a safety hazard. You can eliminate the risk of your swingset coming loose from the ground and possibly injuring your child by anchoring the posts with fast setting cement.

Mark the desired locations of the swingset posts on the ground.

Dig a 30 cm (12 inch) diameter hole approximately 45 cm (18 inches) deep at each post location. A post hole digger is useful for this task, but you can also use a shovel.

Place the swingset posts into the holes.

Pour fast setting concrete mix directly into the holes around the posts until they are filled approximately 7.5 to 10 cm (3 to 4 inches) from the top of the hole. You will need three 22.7 kg (50 lb) bags of concrete mix to secure four swingset posts.

Pour water onto the concrete mix and allow it to soak in. You will need about 4.5 litres (1 gallon) of water for each fence post.

Finish filling the holes in with the dirt you removed to cover the concrete. Allow the cement to harden for at least 4 hours before you attempt to use the swingset.
