You don't have to go to extremes to get the sultry pout of your favourite female celebrity. There are simple, cost-effective ways to naturally plump your lips without the use of needles or having to go under the knife.

Exfoliate, Stimulate and Moisturize

Use a soft-bristle brush, such as a toothbrush, to gently rub the surface of your lips. This will slough away any dead skin cells that make your lips look dry and chapped. Smoothing the skin surface will make the lips appear smooth and soft, which creates the illusion of plumpness. In addition, the stimulation of the brush will cause them to naturally swell a bit. Pinching your lips or kissing a lot also do the trick. After exfoliating your lips, use a moisturising lip balm to keep them plump and juicy looking.

Essential Oils

Mix a few drops of cinnamon oil or peppermint oil into a container of lip balm. These oils will cause a tingling sensation in your lips, because they naturally make the tissue swell temporarily. Many cosmetic lip enhancers on the market today use these oils as part of their ingredients.

Exercise Your Muscles

Whistling for two to five minutes a day will exercise certain mouth muscles around the lips to enhance them and make them fuller. Another exercise is to stretch your lips out forward and then close them suddenly. Keeping your lips pursed, move them from right to left, back and forth. Repeat this eight times a day.
