Sailor Jerry Ltd. is a company owned by the protégés of famous American tattoo artist, Norman Keith Collins, a former navy man who was known as Sailor Jerry. The company produces a spiced rum which features a hula girl design on the bottle label.

Mix Sailor Jerry Rum with various soft drinks, condiments and alcohols to create refreshing cocktails.

Sea Viper

The Sea Viper is easily made by simply adding black tea to Sailor Jerry Rum. Make some black tea, sweeten it with sugar, then leave it to cool. For every one part of Sailor Jerry Rum, add two parts of black tea. Serve the Sea Viper in a highball or pint glass over ice and garnish it with a lemon wedge.

Red Dawn

The Red Dawn is a highly-flavoured drink, with quite a kick and a warming sensation in the throat and chest. Rim a highball or pint glass with celery salt, fill it with ice and add two parts Sailor Jerry Rum. Mix with four parts tomato juice and add a tablespoon of horseradish, a splash of fresh lime juice, four dashes of hot sauce, four dashes of Worcestershire sauce, one pinch of pepper and one pinch of celery salt. Stir the mixture well and garnish with a lime wedge.

Apple Ginger Jerry

To create the Apple Ginger Jerry, mix 1 ½ parts Sailor Jerry Rum with 2 ½ parts apple juice and ½ part fresh lime juice in a shaker. Shake well, then strain over ice into a glass. Top off the drink with ginger ale and garnish with an apple slice and cinnamon stick.

Rum Sour

Make a Rum Sour by mixing two parts Sailor Jerry Rum in a drinks mixer with one part syrup, ¾ part fresh lemon juice, three dashes of bitters and an egg white (use pasteurised egg whites to remove any risk of salmonella). Shake the mixture, then add ice and shake again vigorously. Strain the mixture over ice into a rocks glass and garnish with a drop of bitters.

Sailor Jerry Collins

Make this relatively simple cocktail by adding one part Sailor Jerry Rum to two parts sour mix and one part soda water. Serve the Sailor Jerry Collins in a highball or rocks glass over ice. Garnish with a lemon wedge.
