Party games can transform an ordinary gathering into one that brings all the guests together with fun activities that help them get to know each other better. The games can play off of how well the couples participating know each other. Regardless of the rules, games make parties fun and the couples may very well end up knowing each other better for having played your party games.
Playing a home version of the popular television show, "The Newlywed Game," makes for interesting fun. The host reads a question and instructs one spouse from each couple to write an answer on a piece of paper hidden from the other spouse. The host then asks the same question of the opposite partners. Once the second spouse from each couple answers, reveal the first spouse's written answer. The couple that gets the most correct answers wins the game.
Hot Air Balloon
Start by blowing up one balloon for each couple with regular air, not helium. Give each couple a balloon and instruct them to place it between them at their feet. The object of the game is to move the balloon from their feet up to their heads without the use of any hands. The first couple to accomplish this feat wins.
Tie a Yellow Ribbon
Before the party, hide ribbons of various lengths all around your home. Hide anywhere from 100 to 400 pieces depending on the number of guests. Give couples 10 or 15 minutes to find as many pieces as they can and tie them all together into one long strand. The couple with the longest strand of ribbon wins the game.
Before the party, collect size large and extra-large men and women's clothing. Include everything from pantyhose to lingerie, shoes and hats. Gather an equal amount of items for males and females, mix the clothes together and toss them in a large laundry basket or box.
Have each couple, one at a time, stand on opposite sides of the clothes. When told "Go," they must root through all the clothes, the man finding the woman's clothes and vice-versa. The couple must then put the clothing items on over their own clothes. The couple to find and don their entire opposite-sex ensemble in the fastest time wins.
