When you have a large property and decide to tackle its maintenance on your own, a riding lawnmower makes the task accomplishable. Maintaining your Yard-Man tractor riding lawnmower determines how well it does its job. Although there are several Yard-Man tractor models, they all have some similar parts. Replace a damaged part on your Yard-Man tractor to keep it in good operating condition.

Engine Parts

While the engine is manufactured by another company, such as Briggs & Stratton, the engine accessories for a Yard-Man tractor include the muffler and its deflector, the exhaust gasket, oil drain sleeve, fuel hose and clamp and several screws.

Deck Assembly

The deck assembly supports many working parts of the Yard-Man tractor. The underside of the deck houses the two blades that are bolted to the pulley spindle assembly, which spins the blades from the V-type belt powered by the motor.

Off to the side of the deck assembly is the chute assembly, an attachment that directs the flow of flying cut grass away from the tractor as it makes its cuts across the lawn. Other parts found on the deck assembly include the deck brake, the deck adjuster gear, the idler pulley and several screws, washers, springs and nuts.

Hood and Dash

On the upper side of the tractor are the parts that form the body of the tractor and more parts that work with the mechanics of the machine. The hoods, grill, the dash and the collar for the dash, the steering support for the steering wheel, key switch and key and the throttle assembly, which controls the idling speed of the engine, are some parts of the bonnet and dash. Other parts in this area include the fuel tank, speed selector control rod, speed latch, 6-speed control assembly, fuel hose and several screws and washers.

Drive Parts

The drive parts of Yard-Man tractors include the transmission drive assembly, variable speed pulley assembly, the shaft lever assembly and the pedal assembly for steering and driving the tractor. The drive parts also include the brake rod, shift rod, idler bracket assembly, tires and rim assemblies and several screws, V-belts and spring extensions.

Front-end Steering Parts

From the steering wheel down, these are the parts that are used to direct the lawn tractor across the lawn. The steering wheel connects to the steering shaft, which terminates at the flange bearing in the frame that connects to the front steering gear assembly. The steering link translates the steering direction to the wheel assemblies supported by the pivot axles. Other front-end parts include the front left- and right-hand axles, the steering block and several screws, nuts, bearings and spacers.

Other Parts

Additional Lawn-Man Tractor parts relate to its power take off (PTO), the lift of the tractor--adjusting its variable cutting heights--and the frame. These include the battery, such as the 230 CCA battery for tractors, the lift assembly, the power take off (PTO) handle, the frame of the tractor, the seat, support brackets, screws, washers and spacers.
