Easy Cinderella Crafts for Kids

Updated November 21, 2016

Whether you want to make crafts at home with your own children or are planning a craft lesson for your students at school, Cinderella crafts are and easy and fun way to allow kids to express their creativity. The crafts can range from the simple paper crafts to more elaborate crafts, and there is no right or wrong way to complete them.

One of the most recognisable symbols of Cinderella is her glass slipper. Although you probably cannot find glass slippers for your children, you can let them make their own special shoes. An easy way is to let your child draw and decorate shoes on a piece of construction paper. If your children are younger, you could draw and cut out the shoe ahead of time and then allow the children to decorate them. Another option is to buy an inexpensive pair of children's shoes. Allow your children to decorate the shoe using fabric paints, sequins, buttons and ribbons. Once the glue you use to attach the decorations dries, your children can wear the shoes.

Cinderella becomes a princess at the end of the story. Let your children make crowns to become a prince or princess themselves. Make crowns out of strips of construction paper, and then decorate them. Another option is to purchase craft foam crowns from your local craft store. Then, allow your children to decorate the crown however they would like. You can also make crowns out of headbands that you decorate with sequins and acrylic gems.

The mice play a big role in Cinderella's story. You can help your children make their own mice out of homemade dough. Smooth the dough over top of tin foil balls to create the shape. Once your children have shaped their mice, bake them in the oven to harden them. Paint the hardened mice, and decorate them as your children desire. Or, you can make fingerprint mice by pressing your children's fingers into an ink pad and then onto a piece of paper.

If you are doing your Cinderella crafts in the fall when pumpkins are available, you can have your children decorate some. Since a pumpkin is what the Fairy Godmother uses for a coach, your children can paint the pumpkins to resemble coaches. Or, you can make pumpkins out of construction paper and add wheels to turn them into coaches. Then, your children can make or draw the horses too.
