Games are a great way to break the ice, get over your inhibitions and start communicating with your sweetheart on a whole new level. Whether you're an established couple looking to try something new or you've just recently started dating, interactive games are a fun way to bring you closer together.

Dance Games

With titles available for all the popular gaming platforms, dance games are a great way to enjoy a little friendly competition with your girlfriend and show off your moves. "Dance Central" for Microsoft's Kinect system has both choreographed moves and an opportunity to freestyle. Ubisoft's "Just Dance 2" for Wii offers choreography for R&B, rock, pop, hip hop and world music.

Bar Games

Traditional bar games, such as darts and pool, are a fun way to do some relaxed socialising with your partner. The choice of whether to play against each other or play as a team depends on what you find more stimulating. Do you enjoy flirting your way through a competitive one-on-one game? Or do you prefer the thrill of working together to vanquish your opponents? Play to your strengths as a couple.

Board Games

Unlike watching a movie or sitting side-by-side playing video games, sitting down together and playing a board game creates an opportunity to really appreciate each other face to face. It may feel a bit old-fashioned but the beauty of board games is that they are social by nature and encourage us to interact in a lighthearted way. Take a moment playing Scrabble to tell your boyfriend how hot you find his big vocabulary and watch the sparks fly.

Intimacy Games

Talking about sex can be so embarrassing, for some people it's a turn-off. Opening up to new experiences in intimacy are what many couples crave, but they often have a hard time getting over their shyness about the topic. There are specially designed intimacy games for making communication less awkward and more fun. "Bliss" is a non-competitive computer game for couples. Each player fills out a detailed individual profile of their likes and dislikes, which sets the boundaries for game play. "Speak Love, Make Love" takes you from talking about your desires to acting them out with a flip of the game board.
