If you regularly need to include the same text, image or ad in your Blogger blog posts, you might want to create a default post so you don't have to keep typing the same information. The default post option in Blogger acts like a template -- each time you create a new post, Blogger automatically adds the content from your default post to the bottom of the page. You can create a default post in Blogger using the post template tool in the "Post and Comments" section of your Blogger account's Settings page.

Skill level:
Moderately Easy

  1. 1

Log in to your Blogger account.

  2. 2

Click the "Settings" link beneath the title of the blog for which you want to create the default post. On some Blogger accounts, you'll need to click the arrow button beside the blog name and select "Settings" from the drop-down menu.

  3. 3

Click "Posts and Settings" from the Settings submenu on the left side of the page.

  4. 4

Find the "Post Template" input field in the "Posts" section at the top of the page.

  5. 5

Type or paste the text, script or code that you want to include as default content into the text input field.

  6. 6

Click the "Save Settings" button. By default, Blogger will now add this content to the bottom of all new posts that you create.

Tips and warnings

  • Blogger will apply the default content only to new posts, not posts that you've already published.
