How to Hook Up Netflix to My Samsung Blu-Ray Player

Updated April 17, 2017

Samsung Blu-ray players with wired Ethernet connections or built-in Wi-Fi support Samsung Apps, small programs that run on the Blu-ray player and let you connect to streaming media such as Netflix and Pandora, social media such as Twitter and news or weather sources like the AP News Ticker and "USA Today." To activate Netflix, you must start the Netflix app on your Blu-ray player, get an activation code and enter the activation code on the Netflix website. After activation, your Blu-ray player can connect to Netflix and stream movies or television shows to your TV.

Press the "Internet@TV" button on your remote control, beneath the "A" button. Press the arrow keys on the remote control to highlight the "Netflix" app. Press the "Enter" key.

Press "Enter" if you already have a Netflix subscription plan or use the "down" arrow to highlight "No" and press "Enter." Whether you select "Yes" or "No," you will be given an activation code for your Samsung Blu-ray player. If you select "No," you must sign up for a Netflix trial subscription before using the app.

Open a browser and go to the Netflix activation page. Enter the activation code in the text box and then click "Activate." If you do not have a Netflix account, you will be prompted to enter information for a trial subscription. Your Netflix app will be functional in less than one minute.

If you are using a wireless network to connect your Samsung Blu-ray player to Netflix, you should have at least a 802.11g, or Wireless-G, connection and preferably an 802.11n, or Wireless-N, connection to avoid stuttering and rebuffering of your streaming video.
