You may want to utilise a soundboard while playing the first person shooter video game "Team Fortress 2" (TF2) online over the chat program Ventrillo. A Soundboard is a collection of audio clips you can play through Ventrillo to both humour allies and harass enemies. You'll have a set of different audio clips to choose from depending on what soundboard you use. These clips can include celebrity quotes, music snippets or comedic anecdotes.

Instructions

  1. 1

Find, download or create a set of soundboard files. There are many pre-built soundboards available online that have been created for easy and quick use. You can also create your own .wav files for use as a soundboard.

  2. 2

Open Ventrillo and select Bindings-->New. Name the binding "TF2 Soundboard" and select "OK."

  3. 3

Create the wave file path by selecting "Add" on the bottom left corner of the bindings dialogue. Select "Wave File" from the audio function window.

  4. 4

Set the key binding for the soundboard by choosing "hotkey" and then pressing the key you want to bind the hotkey to. Be careful not to select a key you already use as a hotkey in TF2. Choose which file you want to bind to the selected key when the "Edit Wave File" window opens.

  5. 5

Save your bindings by clicking "OK." Repeat these steps to bind more soundboard files to your keys. You now have a personal soundboard set to each selected hotkey.

Tips and warnings

  • Many players find the use of Soundboards in-game to be annoying. Be careful that you don't alienate your allies.
