MapMyRide is a website created for bicyclists. It allows you to find biking routes in your area. You also have the option to share these routes with fellow bicyclists. If you own a Garmin 705 device, you may want to download your routes to it. The MapMyRide file will save into a format that is compatible with your device. Exporting the file to your Garmin GPS takes only minutes of your time.

Instructions

    Open a Web browser and visit the MapMyRide website. Click the route that you would like to save to your computer.

    Click "Route" in the upper left corner. Click "Save to GPX" and save the file to your desktop.

    Download Garmin BaseCamp from the Garmin website. Save it to your desktop and double-click the file. Install the software to your computer's hard drive.

    Launch Garmin BaseCamp. Click "File" and "Import."

    Search for the route saved to your desktop. Click the "Open" button.

    Connect the USB cable to your Garmin 705 device. Insert the other end into your computer's port.

    Click the "Library" panel in the left side of the BaseCamp interface. Choose your device in the "Send To" menu.

    Wait for the download to complete. Close the BaseCamp software and disconnect your Garmin 705 device.
