If you are part of a fraternity, if you're typing a message in Greek or if you need to enter a complex math equation into a Facebook message or status update, you may need to include the Greek letter delta in the text. To insert this symbol into Facebook, use an "Alt" code to enter a lower-case delta; use the Windows Character Map for an upper-case Delta.
