If you are part of a fraternity, if you're typing a message in Greek or if you need to enter a complex math equation into a Facebook message or status update, you may need to include the Greek letter delta in the text. To insert this symbol into Facebook, use an "Alt" code to enter a lower-case delta; use the Windows Character Map for an upper-case Delta.

Open your Web browser and visit Facebook.com. Type in your login information and sign in to your account.
Navigate to and click inside the text field into which you want to insert the delta symbol on Facebook.
Press and hold the "Alt" key on your keyboard. Press the "Num Lock" key if number lock is disabled, then type "235" on the numeric keypad. Release the "Alt" key; the lower-case delta symbol appears.
Lower-Case Delta Symbol
Click "Start" and type "Character Map" into the Search bar. Press "Enter." The Windows Character Map appears.
Scroll through the symbols on the character map until you reach the upper-case delta symbol, which resembles a hollow triangle.
Click on the symbol, click "Select," then click "Copy." Windows copies the symbol copy to your clipboard.
Open your Web browser and log in to Facebook. Navigate to the place in which you want to insert the delta symbol.
Press the "Ctrl" and "V" keys simultaneously to insert the symbol into the text field on Facebook.
