Netflix's Watch Instantly streaming video service works with many devices and most computer operating systems. However, by default, the Netflix site is not compatible with Linux. But by installing the free Boxee application on your computer, you can enjoy Netflix's on-demand video service. Boxee is available as a Linux Debian file, which makes it easy to install, so you'll soon be watching Netflix streaming movies and TV episodes.

Go to boxee.tv, select the "Make a Boxee" tab and click the "Download" button.
Select "Other" from the "What kind of device do you use?" menu. Click the "Ubuntu Linux" option. Even if you do not have Ubuntu, the software works with most Linux distributions.
Fill in the required registration information and click the "Go on" button. Alternatively, you can click the "Skip to download" button to skip the registration process, but then you will need to register within the Boxee application before using it. The download will begin immediately after clicking either button.
Launch the Boxee app from your Linux computer. The first time you launch the program you will need to sign in with the credentials you created during the registration process. Enter the email address and password and then click the "Sign In" button.
Select the "Apps" icon from the Boxee main menu. Choose the "Netflix" app and click "Start." Boxee will instruct you to go a specific URL in your browser.
Open a Web browser and type the URL provided by Boxee. On the Netflix page, click the "Authorize" or "Activate" button. Connecting your Netflix account to the Boxee software may take a few moments. You may also need to sign in to Netflix before visiting the special URL.
Return to the Boxee client and select the "Apps" option again. Click "Netflix" and then "Start." The Netflix main menu should load immediately, giving you the ability to browse and search for movies and TV shows you want to watch.
Select the "Play" option for a specific title when you are ready to begin streaming. Alternatively, you may have to select "Resume" or "Play from Beginning" if you had previously started that title on any of your Netflix authorised devices.
