Most computers will never need to have the BIOS updated, but if your computer starts having problems when booting, it is possible that there is an issue with your BIOS. By running a program provided by Acer, you can flash your BIOS and ensure that it is up to date. Although this will only take a few minutes, the process cannot be paused once you begin.

Navigate to the Acer support page, support.acer.com, click on "Notebook," click on "Aspire," select "5610Z" from the list and then click "Confirm."
Click on the "BIOS" tab.
Click the download icon to download a zip file containing the BIOS update program.
Unzip the zip file contents to your computer.
Exit out of all programs running.
Run the "flash32" program that you unzipped in Step Four. This program will now update your BIOS and you will need to restart your computer. When the computer boots it will load the new BIOS version and complete the update.
