Tumblr offers a wide range of tools to customise your blog. When you log in to your Dashboard, you can choose from hundreds of free and premium themes or choose to design your own theme using custom HTML code. If you only need to make minor changes to your blog's style, such as a background colour change, Tumblr's advanced customisation features allow you to add on to your blog's existing CSS.

    Select "Advanced."

    Enter the following code in the field for "Add Custom CSS."

    Replace "red" with your desired background colour.
